Hanhane Women's Shelter
The Hanhane Women's Shelter is a refuge for elderly women who have been chased away by their families. The shelter, which is supported by the Methodist church, is home to 18 elderly women. On May 19, the Mozambique Initiative provided resources to the shelter including cleaning supplies to help prevent COVID-19. Thankfully, the residents of the shelter have remained in good health throughout the pandemic. The supplies given to the shelter included masks, soap, buckets, toilet paper, bleach and other cleaning supplies.
